In 1990 Edson Barreto began the Commercial Photography Course at the School, Macfahter Tecnical Institut, located in the state of Florida in the United States of America.

He studied and practiced for four years all the techniques of modern photography, from the revelations in Photographic Laboratory to the most modern lighting situations in Studio, using all formats of photographic equipment, large format, medium format and 35mm, not forgetting the Digital photography, and also modern editing techniques, manipulation and image capture.

Returning to Brazil in 1994, he began his professional career, working with the internationally recognized photographer Marcio Scavone, who remained with him until 1998 when he inevitably opened his own Photographic Studio in São Paulo.

Focusing on his work in Editorial, Publicity and Corporate photography, he worked for large Publishers as Editora Abril, Edit. Globo and Edit. Blue.

Among the most prominent advertising agencies that attended are Publicis Norton, Loducca, Agencia LewLara, Agencia Futura, Thanks Propaganda, Ag. Giacometti, BySide, Context, Agencia Tugarê, Gray Zest, Taterka Communication among others.

Among the companies he attended are Altana Pharma, Bank of Boston, Boehringer, Hershey's, Siemens, Nestle, Pirelli, Motorola among others.
